Air Compressor?

Thinking of buying a air compressor to run air guns like roofing nailers or framing nailers. Wondering if anyone had any ideas?

roofing nailer not advancing nails.?

I have a bostitch n45b roofing nailer and it will not advance nails. It will shoot one nail but won’t advance the next one into the firing position. Have to open the gun up and move the nails and shoot again and same thing. What might be causing this problem? I’m not sure how the pawl works so don’t know what to look at. I tried searching on the web because I thought this might be a common problem but didn’t find much. Thanks for any help you might be able to share on why the nails aren’t advancing.
As already mentioned I tried cleaning the gun. The air compressor is fine, has moisture filter and also has plenty of pressure. Pretty sure something is wrong with the gun itself.
I tried different nails and cleaning the gun and checked the air pressure. Pretty sure it is something more than the simple things that people with any common sense would check before asking a question. Thanks for the ideas but I already checked those, thought maybe someone on here knew something about nailers and could provide some advice on which parts to look at.

I purchased a brad nailer and air compressor combo kit thinking I can rent a roofing gun from home depot because they’re expensive. I just learned that the high air output is 2.6 SCFM @ 90 PSI for the compressor. I was told the compressor needs to have at least 139 PSI. But the box also says maximum 150 PSI. I don’t know what PSI is and SCFM. I just wanted to know if this compressor is strong enough for a roofing gun. It’s a small roof job and I don’t want to spend money unnesseccarily. I can rent a roofing gun from home depot. I’m not sure if I need to rent a strong air compressor or is the one I have suffice. Can anyone help me?

I am putting up crown molding and I want to use a nail gun. I also want to get an air compressor that is not too cheap that I can put in my work shop for future projects. I may do some roofing in the future. What type of air compressor should I get? What type of nail gun for the crown molding? I am on a budget. So I don’t want to spend any more than I have to.

I am interested in buying a Ridgid brand air compressor> Ridgid Model # OF45150; and a Hitachi brand roofing nailer> Hitachi Model # NV45AB2. The compressor seems to have more than enough power to do what I want (To power two nail guns at once) BUT, most nailers have a 3/8 inch air inlet. The Ridgid brand air compressor is fitted with 2 Universal Push Style Quick Couplers that accepts both ¼” industrial and automotive plugs. My question, might sound stupid but, can I change out the 1/4 couplers to 3/8 couplers that will fit the nail gun hoses? Will that effect the performance of the compressor? Or do they sell a 1/4 to 3/8 inch adapter that will work?? Or are the two units incompatible?? If you are knowledgable about this please help. THANKS

I currently have a large framing nailer and a finish nailer. I will be putting a roof on this summer as well. I am wondering what type of air compressor will be the best for this.
